Rachel

A beautiful large flowered fragrant hybrid tea type rose. Blooms are peach in colour with a frilly outer edge to the petals. Has an excellent fragrance and glossy green foliage. Good disease resistance and a long flowering period. Grows to 1m in height and 60cm in spread.

Rambling Rector

A large rambling rose. Large trusses of creamy white, fading to white blooms are produced en-masse in midsummer. Blooms are fragrant and have a cluster of golden yellow stamens and are followed by an attractive hip display. Foliage is a very healthy grey-green. The best rose for scrambling up through trees, covering walls and unsightly buildings. Can be grown up a north facing wall. Hardy. Good disease resistance. Grows to over 800cm in height.

Raspberry Queen

This striking floribunda rose has deep pink/red petals with a cream/white reverse. Foliage is dark-green and glossy and has compact, bushy growth. Approximately grows to 75cm and is good disease resistant.

Red New Dawn

A repeat flowering climbing rose. Clusters of medium sized red blooms are produced in great numbers throughout the summer into the autumn. Blooms are slightly fragrant and continue until first frost. Foliage is deep green and glossy providing a nice back drop for the blooms. Hardy. Good disease resistance. Grows to 350cm in height.

Red Rascal

A cluster-flowered rose with dark green leaves. Pretty semi double crimson scarlet flowers produced from summer to autumn. Lightly scented.

Reine des Violettes

A Hybrid Perpetual shrub rose. Clusters of medium sized, full blooms opening flat in various shades of purple and lilac are produced repeatedly throughout the summer into the autumn. Blooms hold a strong old rose fragrance. Foliage is a healthy, dusky green held by almost thornless stems. Hardy. Good disease resistance. Grows to 120cm in height.

Remember Me

A large flowering hybrid tea rose. Slightly fragrant, well-shaped blooms of a deep copper and orange blend are produced freely in clusters throughout the summer through to the autumn. Vigorous upright growth. Foliage is dark green and glossy. Excellent bedding variety. Good disease resistance. Grows to 90cm in height.

Rhapsody in Blue

ROSE OF THE YEAR 2003. Semi double blooms of a dark iridescent purple fading to a pleasing slate blue are produced repeatedly all season. A richly sweet scented variety. Foliage is a medium green and unusually matt. This is almost certainly to be the closest there is to the highly coveted blue rose. Hardy. Good disease resistance. Grows to 120-150cm in height.

Rosa Canina

Commonly known as dog rose. A seeding species of wild rose which is commonly used for hedging or in a wild life garden. Single fragrant blooms, pale pink in colour are produced singularly or in clusters throughout the summer n a large spreading, arching bush. Blooms are followed by an oval 1.5-2cm red-orange fruit/hip. Foliage is large, light green and plentiful with hooked thorns on the stems making this perfect for a barrier. Hardy. Good disease resistance. Grows to anything up to 500cm in height if left unchecked.

Rosa Mundi

A Gallica shrub rose. Also known as Rosa Gallica Versicolor. Medium sized blooms crimson with white stripes in colour exuding a good old rose fragrance are produced freely throughout midsummer. Foliage is a healthy medium green on a short compact bush. A very showy and beautiful rose. Hardy. Good disease resistance. Grows to 120cm in height.

Rosa Rubiginosa

A species shrub rose. Also known as Sweet Briar or Rosa Eglanteria. A tall growing shrub rose bearing an abundant supply of single pink blooms with a boss of golden yellow stamens. Blooms are strongly fragrant followed by oval bright red hips. Long arching prickly stems bear a mass of apple scented green foliage. Perfect hedging rose or as a single specimen. Hardy. Good disease resistance. Grows to 240cm in height.

A species shrub rose. Also known as Rosa Glauca. A tall arching shrub bearing clusters of small pink blooms followed by small, globular dark red hips. Foliage is a beautiful coppery-mauve borne densley on nearly thornless stems. This variety is perfect for hedging or as a single specimen planting. Hardy. Good disease resistance. Roseraie de L'Hay

A continuous flowering shrub rose bearing beautiful large loose blooms, crimson purple in colour repeatedly throughout the summer into the autumn. Blooms carry a heavy almond scent. Foliage is extremely healthy with a rich green colour with good autumn colour. Strong bushy growing habit making this an ideal variety to use as a hedge. Hardy. Excellent disease resistance. Grows to 180cm in height.

Royal William

ROSE OF THE YEAR 1987 (JOINT). A large flowering hybrid Tea rose. Beautifully form deep red velvety blooms are produced throughout the summer through to the autumn. Fragrance is pleasantly spicy. Due to long flower stems this rose is excellent for flower arranging. Considered by many to be the best dark red hybrid tea rose. Dark green glossy foliage produced plentifully. Good disease resistance. Grows to 100cm in height.
